Cha

NFTS Graduate Film

Credits

DIRECTOR: Gagandeep Kalirai

PRODUCER: James Bowsher

Cha is a short animated film that I created at the NFTS as part of my final MA grad project. Cha is based on a documentary narrative that focuses on the real atrocities of the Anti-Sikh genocide in 1984.

Since its completion, Cha has gone on to win numerous awards, including being longlisted for the BAFTAS as well as being screened all over the world. It has been an incredible journey and is a film I feel  very proud of.

I am confident that Cha will be an inspiring and educational piece of work, that will help to bring attention to the events of 1984. I hope that it will help to bring closure and justice to those affected by the genocide.
